The Final Countdown
Jacob Heck, Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach
The end of the 2020-2021 Academic Year is approaching quickly for Carolina University, and the Bruins have a lot to celebrate. First and foremost, the CU Athletic Department would like to congratulate 17 student-athletes that have earned their degree this year and will walk at Graduation. Earning a college degree is a distinct honor while competing in athletics is an extraordinary privilege. While it is never easy to say “goodbye” the Athletic Department knows these Bruins will go on to do great things!
Even with Graduation coming up, the Bruins are still in action on the field. Carolina University Softball just swept an NCAA DII opponent. This marks the second time in program history that the Bruins have beat a team of that caliber. Additionally, those wins are very valuable as the Bruins attempt to qualify for the NCCAA Regional Tournament for the first time. The Baseball Team is also in a position to qualify for their Regional Tournament. The Bruins will finish the season strong and play some of their last games at Truist Stadium. Truist Stadium is located in downtown Winston-Salem and home to the Winston-Salem Dash, a minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The Bruins will host a double-header on Friday, April 16th, which will be an excellent showcase of their talent at an incredible facility. The Bruins’ Athletics is extremely excited to showcase this event and celebrate as we close out a fantastic school year.
