Tomorrow’s Chapel speaker is Pastor Mike Mitchener. Mike is the founding pastor of Westside Fellowship, a church in Elon, N.C. that celebrated its 22nd anniversary April 2023. With 29 years of full-time ministry experience and a past that included a successful business career, Mike offers a unique set of life experiences that make his sermons and his counseling sessions relevant to a variety of people in all walks of life.
Mike received Christ as his Savior at the age of 26, at a time when he appeared to have life under control. But it wasn’t until the pastor of one of the local churches shared with him the gospel of Jesus Christ that he realized that all the exterior success and pursuit of worldly gains would never satisfy the longings in his heart. After becoming a Christian, he walked away from his worldly pursuits of additional material success.“
If this is worth anything, it is worth everything,” he frequently says about the Christian life. Mike’s teaching and preaching sessions are jam-packed with Biblical truth and often help participants see the relevance of Scripture. “Real, dynamic, lasting change only comes when someone is willing to turn from their old life and embrace the new life offered only through a relationship with Jesus,” Mike said. His teachings offer practical ways for people to see change.

- Chapel is required for all Undergraduate, Main Campus students (residents & commuters).
- Make sure you bring your CU ID Card, and you scan in for attendance.
- Any meeting or activity scheduled during Chapel must be approved by the Vice President of Student Affairs in advance. Excused absences are for any CU-related activity or event.
- NO food, drink, or gum is permitted during Chapel services.
