This year’s Missions Conference features Dr. Tom Steffen, Professor Emeritus of Intercultural Studies at Biola University in La Mirada, California. Dr. Steffen has served 20 years with New Tribes Mission, 15 of which were in the Philippines. He and his family planted churches among the Ifugao and consulted for the agency. Currently, Dr. Steffen directs the Doctor of Missiology program in the Cook School of Intercultural Studies, in addition to his teaching responsibilities.

Dr. Steffen has written multiple books including The Facilitator Era: Beyong Pioneer Church Multiplication, Encountering Missionary Life and Work (with Lois McKinney Douglas), Great Commission Companies: The Emerging Role of Business in Missions (with Steve Rundle), Passing the Baton: Church Planting that Empowers, and Reconnecting God’s Story to Ministry: Crosscultural Storytelling at Home and Abroad.

We are so excited to host Dr. Tom Steffen and learn about how business and missions can go hand in hand in today’s world. Missions and Ministry students are also invited to have dinner with Dr. Steffen on Wednesday March 20th, at 6PM; those who wish to go to the dinner should contact Dr. Granados.
