We are very pleased to announce that we have come to an agreement with Aramark Food Services Inc. This is the service group that provides food for Wake Forest University, High Point University, and Salem and Guilford Colleges, just to name a few of their 1700 school contracts. They will provide our food service for next year beginning June 1, 2019.
Pioneer has been a loyal and faithful partner for many years, and we are parting as friends and giving gratitude for their years of loyalty. However, with the advent of our on campus growth and expectations, we sought a corporate partner that would invest in our students and our university product as well as a “global brand” who could help lift us into the future. As part of the contract, Aramark will immediately invest $200,000 in our facility this summer. Most of their dollars will go into “curb appeal, delivery, and preparation areas.”
However, we are scheduled for a $1.5M renovation during the summer of 2020. Aramark has their own construction company that comes with world class engineers and architects. We will have Fred Drucker, CEO of “Big A” construction provide a drawing of our renovations by August so that everyone can see what is coming. Aramark is known as the “gold standard” for food service in the industry and has contracts with Duke and UNC. Our thanks to Chancellor Condon and Dean Clawson for their great work on this.
