As stated in his online obituary, Stuart Watson Epperson, Sr. or “Big Stu” has fought the good fight, finished his race and is now in the Presence of Jesus, the One he loved, served and told everyone about. Stu and his wife, Nancy, have been special friends of Carolina University for many decades. In addition to their significant financial support over the years, Stu served numerous times on the University’s Board of Trustees and Nancy taught speech for 55 years without ever accepting a paycheck.
Stu was a pioneer in Christian radio and helped launch one of the most successful media companies in the world. But through all of his success, he remained a humble servant of the Lord Jesus and a wonderful friend to countless others. Stu will be greatly missed and we pray for this dear family as they navigate the days ahead.
